requirements
[07:43 am] Kris : BRFS still looking good
today, holding that trendline. Some
resistance at 19.50, 19.70 and 20.00
[07:44 am] Kris : ADTN ALERT
[07:44 am] Kris : see if it can hold
trendline and get into 19.70, I would reduce
more there and then aim for 20.00 ppann on
BRFS
[07:45 am] Kris : ADTN ALERT
[07:45 am] Kris : GMCR consolidating at the

bounce
[07:59 am] Mitch : here is that DE chart i
showed earlier,
[08:00 am] Mitch : VSI took off without me,

[08:06 am] Brent : consider reducing CIEN
[08:08 am] Kris : GMCR new lows
[08:12 am] Mitch : little old Vitamin Shoppe

[08:17 am] Mitch : remember to keep watching
stocks you saw earlier, look at ONXX. had
rebound and excellent short
[08:19 am] Brent : consider reducing more
CIEN
[09:25 am] Kris : SPY double top, look for
another test of that resistance
[09:49 am] Brent : SPY consolidating below
hod[09:54 am] Brent : watching WDC for a
bounce, will pass if it doesn’t keep dropping
to low $27’s
[10:02 am] Brent : I passed on it, but if
anyone took WDC long, consider reducing
[10:59 am] Kris : break time, be back in 30
minutes
[11:32 am] Mitch : new hod on SPY
[12:06 pm] Mitch : should get a bounce now in
SP_Y. indexes

you tomorrow bright and early
[01:00 pm] Kris : Good job today! See you
all tomorrow morning. Have a great night!
|
[01:03 pm] sonorant : that’s incredible —
all I seem to do is lose, how long have you
been at it?
[01:03 pm] rusty : 300? wow congrats
[01:03 pm] ppann : made 300 trades lost on 2
sonorant
[01:02 pm] sonorant : good night all, I’m

link
[01:02 pm] rusty : thanks and nytol[01:01

posts, good job pondozzi, new guy bring
popcorn to next webinar
[01:01 pm] Brent : nice
[01:00 pm] ppann : u guys rock!
[01:00 pm] ppann : i applied it to trading
the euro/usd and usd/jpy[01:00 pm] mikewd2 -:
at 38.00 – dang should have sold it
[01:00 pm] mikewd2 -: also short WYNN,
NFLX
[01:00 pm] Brent : oh yes, I saw that ppann,
very nice. That’s cool
[12:59 pm] ppann : Brent scroll back up and
look at a link i posted…..u guys are
partially responsible
[12:59 pm] pandozzi : i have no problem
paying the 240 a month after trial right
[12:59 pm] mikewd2 -: yeah – just added to my
TNA
[12:59 pm] mikewd2 -: TZA not TNA
[12:59 pm] mikewd2 -: TZa[12:59 pm] garyb :
no mike…I’ve been holding some TNA over the
past few days for a little swing…how about
you?
[12:59 pm] garyb : Guess you and I are going
head to head now mike! lol[12:59 pm] Brent :
I’m just messing with you, great job
[12:58 pm] trvlntrdr : pandozzi–
awesome!
[12:58 pm] rusty : lol brent[12:58 pm]
ronfrac : great pandozzi[12:58 pm] pandozzi
: thx guys c ya tomorrow
[12:58 pm] pandozzi : lol[12:58 pm] mikewd2
-: garyb – you in TZA?
[12:58 pm] garyb : guess we will see you in
the trading room then for a while! lol[12:58
pm] garyb : congrats pandozzi[12:58 pm]
Brent : I’m gonna have the office send you a
bill for another $1
[12:58 pm] Brent : good job pandozzi[12:57
pm] trvlntrdr : I wanted a sell off today
🙁
[12:57 pm] trvlntrdr : bulls beware!
[12:57 pm] shark : WHOA! Awesome
pandozzi!
[12:57 pm] shark : best $1 you ever
spent???
[12:57 pm] rusty : congrats pandozzi, send
3/4 please
[12:57 pm] pandozzi : guys thx again 2nd day
in trading room on 1 dollar trial up 5k
today
[12:57 pm] mikewd2 -: i hope we get a sell
off trvlntrdr[12:57 pm] candelas : nice
Pandozzi[12:56 pm] trvlntrdr : but his chart
teaching is based on day and weeks so it
should work
[12:56 pm] rusty : gotta take note of that
inverted hammer on the SPY daily chart
[12:55 pm] trvlntrdr : you don’t make a
decision to buy or sell based on it but you
might avoid entering
[12:55 pm] trvlntrdr : It was an eye-opening
chapter. I haven’t tried it on 3 min charts
though
[12:55 pm] sonorant : got you — thanks.
maybe there will be a good live example
tomorrow
[12:55 pm] ronfrac : Thanks for the update
trvint. i have Prings book also.
[12:55 pm] ppann : is that for the ES
trv?
[12:54 pm] trvlntrdr : I know and since I
seem to get caught in trend changes a lot I
use it to keep out of a trade
[12:54 pm] qwert : good night everybody see
ya in the am
[12:53 pm] trvlntrdr : you might want to
read about it in a text on technical
analysis. I have one by Martin PRing. I have
been watching now for a few days and it seems
to predict a change in trend about 60% of the
time
[12:53 pm] sonorant : 60% is pretty good.
[12:52 pm] sonorant : but at least I
understand the concept now. Thanks.
[12:52 pm] ronfrac : anyone watching SPY,
TNA, TZA?
[12:52 pm] ppann : i am
[12:51 pm] sonorant : trlntrdr — I see the
difference/divergence but sometimes those
indicators alter depending on what
follows…
[12:51 pm] sonorant : at 11:24 it did go up
afterwards, and at 12:06 it went down next.
In the moment there might not have been a
divergence.
[12:50 pm] mikewd2 -: i was stopped 78.22 B/E
on last half
[12:49 pm] trvlntrdr : yes
[12:49 pm] sonorant : eastern time?
[12:48 pm] trvlntrdr : yes
[12:48 pm] trvlntrdr : sonorant look at MACD
11:24 vs 12:06
[12:48 pm] sonorant : are you still on the
GMCR 3 minute chart?
[12:48 pm] shark : there she goes…
[12:48 pm] mikewd2 -: TZA nice 1pt bounce in
a couple minutes
[12:46 pm] trvlntrdr : it is subtle but
occurs twice
[12:46 pm] trvlntrdr : if the price peaks
higher but the oscillator doesn’t, it is a
divergence. and vice versa
[12:46 pm] skydiver : worked out
[12:46 pm] skydiver : L SINA 78.51 – Sold
79.19 – fast
[12:46 pm] skydiver : gone most of the day
— jumped on and had to try one deal before
close
[12:46 pm] mikewd2 -: nice skydiver
[12:45 pm] trvlntrdr : I’m here– on NT it
says 3,14,3 on the chart
[12:45 pm] sonorant : Okay thanks, because
with my settings, I didn’t see anything
unusual.
[12:45 pm] shark : nice 2 day drop VOLC
[12:45 pm] Brent : you too apple
[12:45 pm] apple : thx MK, K and B and
everyone. Have a wonderful evening.
[12:44 pm] sonorant : trvlntrdr — are you
gone? what were your stochastic settings for
that example?
[12:44 pm] rusty :
http://my.jetscreenshot.com/demo/20111012-hby
f-140kb.jpg VIX
[12:43 pm] sonorant : good for you mike —
it worked!
[12:43 pm] skydiver : L SINA 78.51 – had to
catch a phone call and it’s up – Great
[12:43 pm] joeytsa : time to go, b4 i do
something stupid haha[12:43 pm] joeytsa :
hope you all have a great day, thanks for
some great calls today
[12:42 pm] trvlntrdr : Did we get the link
for Mitch’s lecture of the other day?
[12:42 pm] ronfrac : ppann yes think or
swim
[12:42 pm] mikewd2 -: stop to B/E
[12:42 pm] mikewd2 -: i went long at 78.2
[12:42 pm] amersaeed : is there a sell
signal on Sina[12:41 pm] ronfrac : Has
anybody traded with TOS Active Trader?
[12:41 pm] ppann : think or swim?
[12:41 pm] mikewd2 -: out half SINA 79.10
[12:41 pm] joeytsa : try typing in 5000
instead of 500 shares sometimes
[12:40 pm] trvlntrdr : unfortunately I was
short and had a sell stop order instead of a
buy stop order. it reversed hit my stop and
I was the proud parent of 2 losing
positions
[12:40 pm] joeytsa : emini futures
[12:39 pm] ronfrac : Joey what is ES?
[12:39 pm] mikewd2 -: SINA coming back
some
[12:39 pm] joeytsa : twice i see the ES go
down…and then tried to short when i meant
to buy since it’s the reverse…won’t let me
thankfully
[12:38 pm] trvlntrdr : it is easy to make
that mistake on NT
[12:38 pm] mikewd2 -: usually a pretty cheap
mistake
[12:38 pm] mikewd2 -: sometimes saves me
money. lol[12:38 pm] mikewd2 -: i’ve enter
limits when i meant stop – i do that a couple
times a month
[12:38 pm] mhaus : trv, been there done that
🙂
[12:38 pm] joeytsa : yeah, done a few dumb
things recently with TZA….
[12:38 pm] joeytsa : been trying to time it
with my ES tick chart….
[12:38 pm] apple : red is for stop and green
is for go
[12:38 pm] apple : i did that on etrade once
– boy did i kick myself, mike!
[12:37 pm] trvlntrdr : I just learned again
not to put ina sell order when I mean buy!
[12:37 pm] trvlntrdr : $70 lesson
[12:37 pm] ppann : lol[12:37 pm] ppann : i
do that at least every other week
[12:37 pm] joeytsa : haha…or clicking the
button twice doh[12:36 pm] trvlntrdr :
painful lessons
[12:36 pm] joeytsa : you can’t allow a $1000
loss when your target profit is $250 for
example
[12:35 pm] rusty : ITMN radar
[12:35 pm] joeytsa : i never allow myself to
lose more than i plan to make on a trade
[12:33 pm] sonorant : I can’t believe
gunslinger joey just said that 😉
[12:33 pm] joeytsa : i only gunsling on the
open…
[12:33 pm] joeytsa : but i always know my
targets
[12:32 pm] trvlntrdr : that is why risk
management is so important
[12:32 pm] trvlntrdr : it is amazingly
random
[12:32 pm] sonorant : yes thanks for BSFT —
who called that?
[12:32 pm] qwert : joey its just a matter of
accepting the risk
[12:32 pm] ppann : i like to call it an
educated attempt:)
[12:32 pm] joeytsa : yes qwert, that’s why
you have to have stop losses…
[12:32 pm] joeytsa : and you should already
know your exit/entry points b4 you make the
trade
[12:32 pm] candelas : out all BSFT
[12:31 pm] sonorant : okay, thanks Brent
[12:31 pm] joeytsa : no matter how great
your system, indicators etc…every time you
click to send your order..it’s still a
guess
[12:30 pm] joeytsa : there is no holy
grail…
[12:29 pm] trvlntrdr : that you have to wait
for confirmation in the price. but it gives
me a red flag
[12:29 pm] trvlntrdr : he even points out
the pitfalls of tech analysis
[12:29 pm] rusty : speaking of divergence
look at volume on SP last 3 days
[12:29 pm] joeytsa : i like divergences on
daily charts too
[12:29 pm] Brent : that’s in reference to
SINA
[12:28 pm] trvlntrdr : I read about it in a
book by MArtin Pring[12:28 pm] sonorant :
thanks trvlntrdr — I’ll look
[12:28 pm] joeytsa : the more things you
have on your side, the better chance of
making a good trade
[12:28 pm] joeytsa : i love divergences
also, but they aren’t infallible
[12:28 pm] Brent : if it was earlier in the
day I probably would have shorted that new
low after the bounce at 79.50
[12:27 pm] trvlntrdr : also MACD and STochs
positively divergent at 12:00 GMCR
[12:27 pm] sonorant : ah — ok, thanks.
back to percentages again. And what would be
a strategy for shorting, or continuing the
trend?
[12:27 pm] Brent : at 3:30, it has to be a
perfect setup for me to trade it. It’s been
a great day so no need to mess it up
[12:26 pm] trvlntrdr : stochastics
negatively divergent compared to last
overbought time on GMCR.
[12:26 pm] sonorant : wasn’t big enough for
what? long or short?
[12:26 pm] shark : LULU lod[12:26 pm] Brent
: for a long fade Sonorant, and didn’t match
a strategy I trade for shorting it
[12:25 pm] trvlntrdr : look at stochastics
on 3min chart of GMCR at 13:40 eastern
time
[12:25 pm] Brent : In SINA’s case Sonorant
the move to 79.50 wasn’t big enough for me
considering the SPY broke trend and started
selling off.
[12:23 pm] sonorant : can you give me an
example — stock and time?
[12:22 pm] trvlntrdr : Sonorant — I look
forward to their answer to your question. as
another student I would mention that I just
learned about oscillator divergence from
price and have found it frequently predicts a
trend change at least over the time frame you
are using.
[12:22 pm] sonorant : I’m thinking about
shorting it mike
[12:20 pm] mikewd2 -: anyone going long on
SINA?
[12:19 pm] sonorant : Kris & Brent —
folks kept watching SINA for a reversal
trade. Which brings back the question —
how can you spot something that is safely
trending versus something that is likely to
reverse?
[12:18 pm] mikewd2 -: Kris, you still have
your TZA swing?
[12:18 pm] Kris : I am stopped out of my TZA
swing, I’ll watch it for a break of trendline
and confirmation before re-entering it.
[12:17 pm] joeytsa : have a good one eyes
[12:16 pm] mikewd2 -: SINA tanking
[12:16 pm] eyes-inthenow : Good Night
Everyone I get to go Study
[12:13 pm] rusty : will see how it looks
near the close
[12:13 pm] rusty : watching VXX for a
swing
[12:11 pm] rusty : small stocks
outperforming big ones
[12:11 pm] lisas : good point shark
[12:10 pm] trvlntrdr : and the “good news
“out of europe is BOGUS
[12:10 pm] shark : the indexes are rallying
from low priced oversold stocks, i.e.
banks…
[12:10 pm] shark : none of the former
leaders are “leading”
[12:09 pm] trvlntrdr : not unexpected
though– time for a pull back
[12:09 pm] joeytsa : that’s why i also like
to look at equal-weighted indices
[12:09 pm] joeytsa : i agree shark, throw
in XOM too if it fails..2 of the heaviest
weighted stocks
[12:08 pm] rusty : ominous
[12:06 pm] shark : AAPL staged what looks
like an “abandoned baby” or “island gap”
today and if it can’t hold the 400 level it
could be meaningful for the stock and the
market.
[12:06 pm] Kris : 82.08 eyes
[12:06 pm] eyes-inthenow : thanks
[12:04 pm] sonorant : SPY hitting VWAP
[12:04 pm] candelas : BSFT
[12:02 pm] rusty : EBAY + Facebook rumors
[12:02 pm] Kris : no eyes, what was your
question?
[12:02 pm] eyes-inthenow : what was your
stop on sina this morning
[12:00 pm] lightning : looks like it to me
Mike
[11:59 am] qwert : i will restart
lightspeed[11:59 am] mikewd2 -: SINA setup
for 3min fade?
[11:59 am] lightning : I’m not having any
Lightspeed problems, qwert[11:58 am] sonorant
: no, but I am having computer problems
again.
[11:58 am] qwert : anybody else having
trouble with lightspeed connection
[11:58 am] pow : TZA
[11:58 am] pow : MKING, do you have your
full positions for TZAA?
[11:58 am] mikewd2 -: SINA still heading
south
[11:58 am] lisas : -1000 tick, first of the
day
11:58 am] amersaeed : why SPY is dropping
like this…??
[11:56 am] rusty : Traders bet heavily the
volatility seen in the market since the
S&P downgrade of the U.S. will dissipate,
buying more VIX puts in relation to calls
than any time since January 2009.
[11:52 am] rusty : today’s AAPL candle kind
of ominous
[11:52 am] mikewd2 -: SINA lod[11:51 am]
mikewd2 -: watching SINA
[11:49 am] victor51 : Thanks Mitch, Got 29
for ADTN
[11:49 am] eyes-inthenow : Kris Did you See
My Question sina[11:48 am] mac3 -: Kris ?
volc[11:45 am] joeytsa : SINA powering
down
[11:44 am] Brent : not sure yet garyb, I’ll
need to check with Mitch
[11:43 am] garyb : Brent was just
wondering….can we get the videos of the
webinars on DVD…or at least leave it in the
server for longer than 90 days? I like
reviewing.
[11:42 am] Brent : sorry eyes, I miss read
your question. I use both super dom and
chart trader
[11:41 am] pandozzi : i grinded out 3
separate cmi shorts thx mitch[11:40 am] ppann
: sold 300 shares of BRFS at 19.61 from
17.73 swing…..gonna hold the last 200 with

webinar last night #4 – so very, very helpful
– very clear
[11:23 am] sonorant : Kris, Brent, guidance
on how one would have known NOT to go in to
LNKD on the first 2 downturns?
[11:23 am] lisas : Just reviewing my trade,
I left way too much money on the table, need
to work on keeping last portion longer
[11:23 am] Brent : not a big enough move for
me to fade sonorant

trader trading off the charts?
[11:17 am] lisas : TNA failed break out.
[11:17 am] candelas : thx for the widow

[11:17 am] apple : just because you

[11:07 am] sonorant : have you tried to
short it yet?
[11:07 am] qwert : nice what’s the news
[11:07 am] qwert : candles are you long on
lnkd[11:07 am] candelas : yes
[11:07 am] candelas : no, not yet

[11:02 am] candelas : nice way to put it
PPann[11:01 am] ppann : i c it as 90% of

I’m peter Panagopoulos on those
rankings……took Mitch’s and Kris’s and
Brent’s styles..added a little of my
mustard…and Boom….the fog has cleared
[11:00 am] sonorant : right now I am
attempting to short LNKD so far it has cost
me.
[10:59 am] sonorant : I am in the red.
Again.
[10:59 am] qwert : just trading what i see
and not over thinking everything
[10:59 am] qwert : 3 min fade and gaps and
breakouts
[10:59 am] eyes-inthenow : what are you
trading I mean what setups
[10:59 am] Brent : great to hear Qwert[10:58
am] trvlntrdr : ppann, I am learning your
point.
[10:58 am] qwert : been doing much better
since the webinar
[10:57 am] ppann : I’ve stopped thinking.. I
just react now….sleep better at night
[10:56 am] eyes-inthenow : I am still trying
to figure this Ninja out qwert i am up 20
dollars today thou
[10:55 am] trvlntrdr : I know try to be
positive and nimble minded.
[10:55 am] qwert : eyes how’s your trading
going
[10:53 am] trvlntrdr : with a faster system
you could just lose if faster
[10:53 am] ppann : oops i mean 38.53
[10:53 am] ppann : forgot fomc
[10:53 am] ppann : 300 shares
[10:52 am] trvlntrdr : now we’re in the same

[10:52 am] ppann : i took 58.53
[10:52 am] eyes-inthenow : Now I just got to
figure out how to make money
[10:51 am] ppann : grabbd some TZA at
38.35…1/3 position
[10:51 am] eyes-inthenow : I have 64

[10:42 am] rusty : good utility to check
your cpu temps
[10:39 am] trvlntrdr : you can check under
control panel
[10:39 am] trvlntrdr : system -type
[10:39 am] Kris : and if you don’t have 64
bit windows make sure you have a 64 bit mobo
before you get 64 bit windows or else it will
say “no shirt, no shoes, no dice”
[10:38 am] Kris : it should install both
versions
[10:38 am] Kris : and yes, you need to be
running 64 bit windows 7
[10:38 am] junior : TZOO spiking
[10:37 am] trvlntrdr : you have to have 64
bit windows though, right?
[10:37 am] sonorant : The icon on your
desktop will say 64 bit if it is.
[10:37 am] eyes-inthenow : Were do I check
to see what version I Have
[10:37 am] dan : Kris, when you fire another
bullet at TZA?
[10:36 am] sonorant : Okay, thanks,
everyone, we shall see if this helps. And I
like it warm!
[10:36 am] sonorant : It is one of the
options of versions that you can download.
[10:36 am] eyes-inthenow : where do you find
64 bit
[10:36 am] candelas : I know, I wanted 1,
got a rabbit instead
[10:35 am] trvlntrdr : super
[10:35 am] sonorant : The 64 bit version
installed with all the charts and workspaces
intact.
[10:34 am] trvlntrdr : as we head into
winter it should be easier to cool the room
unless you live in the tropics
[10:34 am] sonorant : spending $$ is not an
option.
[10:34 am] junior : LNKD
[10:34 am] candelas : LNKD on move, but
stuck in range on daily
[10:33 am] ronfrac : I also installed a
Split A?C Heating unit in my space. Acts like
central air for 1 space.
[10:33 am] ppann : at 1212
[10:33 am] ppann : 4K lot on the sell side
just finished on the ES
[10:32 am] trvlntrdr : I noticed my laptop
speed up the other day when I ventilated the
bottom
[10:31 am] trvlntrdr : that sounds fine. but
if you are in a hot space you might need more
cooling.
[10:31 am] sonorant : The air coming out of
it is cool. The computer is not
overheating.
[10:30 am] trvlntrdr : the fastest are water
cooled
[10:30 am] trvlntrdr : but speed is related
to cooling, that is why they have fans, heat
radiators etc[10:30 am] sonorant : thanks.
The computer is well cooled — I asked
specifically. It has top vents and a good
fan.
[10:30 am] sonorant : I have thermal blinds
and the windows already have some heat
reflection film on them.
[10:29 am] trvlntrdr : Kris knows a lot more
about computers than I do.
[10:29 am] sonorant : It is at about 80
degrees. Warmer on the desk top, cooler
underneath the desk where the computer
actually sits.
[10:29 am] ronfrac : SonorANT: If you want
to reduce heat streaming into your windows go
to LOWE’s or Home Depot and get Energy Saving
Window Film. Rejects 55% of SUNs heat. I put
it in most of my windows and the results are
amazing. The other option is to replace your
windows with E GLASS. Very expensive
[10:29 am] joeytsa : Mitch is setting the
BAX chart up for a lesson
[10:29 am] Brent : there isn’t one
amersaeed[10:29 am] amersaeed : what is the
current trade on BAX , Long or short…??
[10:28 am] trvlntrdr : If your room is over
80 degrees I would consider cooling it
[10:27 am] trvlntrdr : you just can’t use
the old NT files with NT 7
[10:27 am] sonorant : Okay, thanks guys. I
will try it.
[10:27 am] Kris : thanks bert[10:27 am] Kris
: I thought I remember that
[10:27 am] Kris : I think the workspaces and
chart templates are cross compatible.
[10:27 am] Brent : they are
[10:26 am] sonorant : you are right, the 64
bit version would handle the data more
easily. I have this horrible feeling
however, that I will have to rebuild all of
my charts and spaces.
[10:25 am] sonorant : yes, that and move the
cursor — it starts to jump and not
respond
[10:25 am] sonorant : But there was some
problem with 64 bit — was it with the
sim?
[10:25 am] Kris : try to narrow down the
problem
[10:25 am] Kris : it’s just happens when you
try to move orders on chart trader?
[10:24 am] trvlntrdr : If you go to an IT
room it is air-conditioned
[10:24 am] trvlntrdr : But I do agree with
Kris, that you have some software problem,
[10:24 am] sonorant : Yes, I know extra work
spaces put a load on the software.
[10:24 am] Kris : try closing your other 2
work spaces
[10:24 am] Kris : the 32 bit might be choking
on your workspaces and number of charts
you’re running.
[10:24 am] Kris : I would bet money on it
[10:24 am] Kris : don’t worry about your
resources, you should have plenty
[10:24 am] Kris : 64 bit is faster
[10:24 am] Kris : 64 bit is better suited to
handle more charts
[10:23 am] trvlntrdr : the room needs to be
cool, sonorant
[10:23 am] trvlntrdr : the computer has to
cool off with the ambient air
[10:23 am] sonorant : What is your
definition of “not warm”?
[10:23 am] Kris : your issue is software
related sonorant
[10:23 am] Kris : 970
[10:22 am] trvlntrdr : me too but it would
have been cheaper to build my own. I’m
sure
[10:22 am] sonorant : I am in a room that
warms up as the day progresses. The computer
stays cool, but the monitors back up to a
southern window — blinds pulled. Could this
make a difference?
[10:22 am] mhaus : which flavor of i7?
[10:22 am] mhaus : that’s the best way to
go. At least I know what components I am
getting
[10:22 am] mhaus : is the 2600 or 960?
[10:22 am] Kris : i7
[10:21 am] trvlntrdr : what processor are
you using Kris
[10:21 am] sonorant : Running the 64 bit
will put a higher load on the processor and
memory
[10:21 am] sonorant : I know I should be.
[10:21 am] Kris : you should be good to go
sonorant
[10:21 am] Kris : try running 64
[10:21 am] Kris : that’s what I did
mhaus[10:20 am] sonorant : I am running the
32 bit, but have the 64 bit option. The
video card is ATI Radeon HD6770 1Gb RAM
DirectX
[10:20 am] Kris : you were paying for the
little alien head
[10:20 am] joeytsa : yeah, i just need
something new
[10:20 am] joeytsa : more streamlined
[10:20 am] candelas : love it
[10:20 am] Brent : Candelas, how are you
liking your system?
[10:19 am] ppann : thanks Kris i had a hunch
i might be able to score at least 1 handle
[10:19 am] Kris : you’re paying for the
little falcon light up logo on the box.
[10:19 am] Kris : like when alien ware first
came out before they got ate up by Dell
[10:19 am] Kris : falcon is overpriced
[10:19 am] joeytsa : yeah seemed up there
[10:18 am] Kris : very nice trade ppann[10:18
am] joeytsa : been checking out falcon
systems 6 monitor set up…anyone have
experience with them?
[10:18 am] eyes-inthenow : I do and LOVE
it
[10:17 am] mhaus : Sonorant, run some bench
mark tests on your computer. You could be
having a heating problem of the CPU or
GPU.
[10:17 am] Kris : you running 64 or 32 bit NT
sonorant?
[10:16 am] candelas : nice
[10:15 am] sonorant : well not live, sim.
[10:15 am] sonorant : The problem is that I
start being unable to drag my arrows. Then
the charts start “not responding” This is
obviously happening on the charts that I have
live trades on.
[10:15 am] ppann : c/a at 1212.25..10
cars….took 1211 …+1.25..now it can
tank
[10:15 am] mhaus : if you try to load a 1
minute chart with 1 year of data, it will
take l o n g.
[10:15 am] Brent : nice ppann[10:14 am]
sonorant : ASUS graphics card, will have to
look up model number.
[10:14 am] rusty : Dow Jones Industrial
Average unchanged for the year
[10:14 am] rusty : — also unchanged for the
past 10 years
[10:13 am] sonorant : okay, 8 gigs. New
graphics card — supports up to 3 monitors
[10:13 am] mhaus : my antiquated computer is
Intel Core2 1.8 GHz with 3GB RAM
[10:13 am] Kris : you know the model?
[10:13 am] Kris : load data
[10:13 am] Kris : are your charts slow to low
data or is your computer running slow all
around?
[10:12 am] sonorant : I’ve backed most of
them off to 2 days. I have an i5 intel
processor and 8 was it megs or gigs? or
RAM
[10:12 am] mhaus : good question Kris. I am
loading 5 days by default.
[10:12 am] Kris : you should be fine
[10:12 am] Kris : what’s your graphics
card?
[10:12 am] Kris : lol[10:12 am] Kris :
hopefully
[10:12 am] Kris : gigs
[10:11 am] trvlntrdr : that could be
[10:11 am] sonorant : plus the graphic
interface obviously takes a toll too
[10:11 am] sonorant : I think the processing
load is from the charts — the back days of
data and the number of indicators that are
being calculated constantly.
[10:11 am] mhaus : don’t see any delays, and
my computer is OLD
[10:11 am] mhaus : 24 total
[10:11 am] Kris : how many days are you
loading on your intraday charts?
[10:10 am] trvlntrdr : well that is a lot of
charts
[10:10 am] trvlntrdr : I am the same as
mhaus[10:10 am] sonorant : mhaus — how many
charts?
[10:10 am] sonorant : I have reduced most of
them to 2 days of data, and pulled indicators
off many of them.
[10:10 am] mhaus : Sonorant, I am running NT
charts on 4 monitors, but in a single
workspace
[10:09 am] trvlntrdr : not sure about the #
of monitors though
[10:09 am] sonorant : I only have 2- 23″
monitors, but I have 3 workspaces, so I have
38 charts I believe
[10:08 am] trvlntrdr : sonorant I would call
your computer manufacturer. An up to date
computer should be able to handle multiple NT
charts without problem
[10:06 am] ppann : 2nd lot at 1213..short
[10:05 am] joeytsa : APA hod[10:01 am]
joeytsa : earnings
[10:00 am] sonorant : down URBN, down
[10:00 am] joeytsa : PEP having a nice

[09:59 am] sonorant : I got stopped out on
my short when it left the channel
[09:59 am] joeytsa : i set up a scan looking
for 1.5x normal ATR…WTI, HST keep popping
up
[09:59 am] candelas : too funny cancelled my
short URBN 24.79
[09:59 am] candelas : had it set from
earlier
[09:58 am] sonorant : NOW URBN decides to
turn over. Revenge trading anyone?
[09:58 am] shark : SPY new hod[09:57 am]
sonorant : I tried to enter on the GMCR
bounce and didn’t get filled
[09:56 am] trvlntrdr : i want to cry because
I should have covered GMCR
[09:56 am] ppann : gonna fade the ES here
1/3 position
[09:55 am] trvlntrdr : right, what joey
said, you can load the stocks according to
all those preset variables.
[09:55 am] trvlntrdr : no reason to load
0.99 $ stocks into NT
[09:55 am] sonorant : Apparently being able
to move arrows on a screen comes at a very
high processing price.
[09:55 am] sonorant : ah — ok thanks.
[09:55 am] shark : gorgeous text bounce GMCR

[09:54 am] rusty : VSI bounce
[09:54 am] joeytsa : list created by FINVIZ
scan
[09:53 am] sonorant : what do you mean by
“met your criteria”?
[09:51 am] trvlntrdr : Then you know the
stocks meet your criteria because you entered
that into FINVIZ
[09:50 am] trvlntrdr : they all have to be
on the same exchange, ie, NASDAQ
[09:50 am] trvlntrdr : then put them into an
excel file. Then cut and paste into the
“import stock list” under utilities under
tools
[09:50 am] sonorant : I will write this down
and try it later. Thanks trvlntrdr[09:49 am]
trvlntrdr : in NT, The best way to add the
stocks is to take the desired stocks from
FINVIZ
[09:48 am] joeytsa : on futures with ninja,
you have to have the ES for example in your
instrument manager
[09:47 am] sonorant : so in order to trade a
stock live, the symbol has to be in the
instrument manager?
[09:47 am] sonorant : anthonyb is also using
Ninja. I wonder what he has done. He’s left
for the day by now, I’m sure.
[09:46 am] sonorant : so how often does this
problem occur?
[09:46 am] mhaus : every time. so I add that
stock symbol in the instrument manager.
[09:45 am] sonorant : eyes, have you
executed any live trades? mhaus, you are
doing live trading, aren’t you?
[09:45 am] mhaus : yes, I am
[09:44 am] sonorant : VSI new lod[09:44 am]
mhaus : u r welcome
[09:43 am] sonorant : by the way mhaus, I
followed the instructions you gave eyes to
get my TWS loaded. Thanks.
[09:42 am] sonorant : In my Ninja Instrument
manager the exchange is listed as
Globex[09:42 am] mhaus : Tools-&g
Instrument Manager
[09:42 am] eyes-inthenow : My Exchange reads
GLOBEX
[09:41 am] mhaus : in Ninja
[09:40 am] sonorant : Instrument manager in
ninja or in TWS?
[09:40 am] mhaus : If you look at the
“Instrument Manager” it shows ‘Default” as
the exchange. IB system wants to see “Smart”
instead of Default.
[09:39 am] sonorant : When do you guys have
that problem? specific stocks?
[09:39 am] sonorant : intermittently?
[09:39 am] mhaus : Eyes, I am having the
same problem. Ninja support said they were
working on it. Somehow Kris does not have
that problem.
[09:39 am] eyes-inthenow : Ninja with IB
[09:38 am] mikewd2 -: oh, yeah
[09:38 am] mikewd2 -: i thought they
mentioned you had to select ARCA on one of
those platforms.
[09:38 am] mikewd2 -: are you using
lightspeed?
[09:38 am] eyes-inthenow : I tried to sell
short IMAx and I got a rejection it said i
needed a different exchange
[09:38 am] apple : lightspeed[09:37 am]
sonorant : eyes, I don’t understand your
question, and I’m sure I am also going to
want to know the answer.
